OFI participates in the relevant national and international standards committees in the field of sports facilities and sports surfaces and is represented in the relevant working groups of ÖISS, the Austrian Institute for School and Sports Facility Construction. As a member of ISSS, the International Association for Sports Surface Sciences, OFI participates in the international development of sports surfaces.
Evaluate properties of sports surfaces
The essential properties of a sports surface or a special impact-reducing wall covering, summed up under the headings “protective function”, “sports function” and “technical properties”, are determined and evaluated in the accredited area.
OFI’s expertise can be consistently applied to the suitability assessment of systems and products (sports surfaces, flooring, cladding, etc.).

Determining parameters for this are, for example: Force reduction, shock absorption, deformation, friction and sliding behavior.
Technical characteristics of a sports surface
Properties that ensure that the sports surface can withstand the expected stresses over the longest possible period of time without any change in its protective and sports functional properties.
